Staff Selection Commission will make recruitment to the posts of Constable (GD) in ITBPF, BSF,CISF,CRPF and SSB and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles. Female candidate will be considered for posts earmarked for them in different CAPFs.


Eligibility:

Matriculation or 10th class pass is the minimum educational qualification. The recruitment will comprise of Physical Standards Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Written Examination and Medical Examination.
Candidates should not have been born earlier than 01.08.1989 and not later than 01.08.1994.
AGE LIMITS 18-23 years as on 01.08.2012.



Medical Standards a) Eye Sight : The minimum distant vision should be 6/6 & 6/9 of 2 eyes without correction i.e. without wearing of glasses. The candidate should possess high COLOUR VISION.

b) The candidates must not have knock Knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes, bow legs, inability to close the left eye, inability to flex the fingers properly and any other obvious deformities. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect which is likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.


Physical standards laid down for the post of Constable are:
a)
For Females : 157 cms.
b)
- Expanded : Min expansion 5 cms.
c)
Height: For Males : 170 cms. Chest: For males only – Unexpanded : 80 cms. Weight : For males and Females

 The syllabus for the Written Examination will be :
A. General Intelligence & Reasoning
: Analytical aptitude and ability to observe and distinguish patterns will be tested through questions principally of non-verbal type. This component may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, etc. B. General Knowledge and General Awareness
C. Elementary Mathematics: This paper will include questions on problems relating to Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions and relationship between Numbers, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work, etc. D. English/Hindi :
Candidates‟ ability to understand basic English/ Hindi, his basic comprehension and writing ability, etc. would be tested.
: Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidates general awareness of the environment around him. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, scientific Research etc. These Questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.
Objective Multiple Choice Types. Questions will be set bilingually in Hindi and English in Parts A, B and C. Candidates are required to attempt either Hindi or English section of Part „D‟ of the question paper.

The Tentative Schedule for Recruitment is: PST/PET : February to March, 2012
Written Examination : 22nd April
Medical Examination : June-July,2012
Declaration of Result : 30th September, 2012
